Lois Bird Youth Development Scholarship

The Lois Bird Youth Development Scholarship supports two annual awards for students pursuing post-secondary education at post-secondary institutions. The recipients will be selected by each of the below organizations based on the criteria listed.
The ROC Youth Services Award ($1250)
The successful candidate will be a participant of ROC programming that demonstrates that they are a hardworking "self-starter", their passion for academics, and their ability to work as part of a team.
851 Squadron Air Cadets Award ($1250)
The award will be given to the top Air Cadet as determined by the 851 Prince Edward Squadron. Top Cadet typically exemplifies leadership, teamwork, and excellence.
The successful candidate will be a participant of ROC programming that demonstrates that they are a hardworking "self-starter", their passion for academics, and their ability to work as part of a team.

The ROC Youth Services Award
Applications should include the following component pieces:
- Completed application form.
- A copy of letter of acceptance into a post-secondary program.
- A short essay (under 500 words) OR video (under 5 minutes) introducing yourself and your goals.
Highlight qualities this scholarship supports including hard work, teamwork, and a passion for academics.
The deadline for applications is May 31st each year.

Please note that the 851 Squadron Air Cadets Award has another selection process directly through the organization.
Past Winners
- The inaugural recipient will be selected in 2027.
